Dec 23- 24

Solstice Party  Happy Winter! Ski along the Bunny Loop and test your wintry wisdom. Maybe you will capture a snowflake or try your hand at making your own unique snowflake!

Open House at XC Shelter  Fat, Feathers and Fur or Blubber and You Would you be able to survive outside during our harsh Northwoods winter? Ski out along the Cookie Loop to the Nature Shelter and learn about the great lengths that animals go through to survive the long, cold winter.

Scrabble Trail  Ever play a board game along a ski trail? Here’s a chance to challenge your intellect as well as your ski legs! Pick up a letter tile at 7 stops along the Otter 9K Trail. Once you get back to the Chalet create your highest scoring word and enter it on the scoreboard. Highest score will win a prize.

Kid Craft  Help us decorate our tree. Kids of all ages can get creative and make easy, do-it-yourself holiday decorations. Check out the Kid’s Corner in the Chalet.

Dec 26-30

Snowshoe/Ski Scavenger Hunt   See if you can follow the clues that will lead you to a destination that you may never have seen before at Winter Park. Different “hunts” all week for both snowshoers and skiers.

Frontier Games at Camp 9  Take a step back in time when entertainment was much simpler but not necessarily easier. Try these challenging games that were popular in the 1800’s which may look a little familiar to games we play today. Follow the signs off of base loop ski trail for skiers and Snow Stomper for snowshoers.

Campfires and Treats at XC Vista and XC Shelter    Stop by for a quick warm-up and a spectacular view at the Vista or treat yourself to a roasted marshmallow at the Shelter. Don’t forget to throw a log on the fire before you leave to keep it burning for the next skiers who stop by.

“Glide With A Guide”  2 pm  M-F  Take a free guided ski tour to learn about the natural history and unique geologic features that make Winter Park so special. All ages and skill levels welcome.

Feathered Friends Trail Ever wonder how many ping pong balls would equal the weight of a Chickadee? Learn fun facts about our beloved backyard birds along the Bunny Loop Trail.

New Year’s Eve Candlelight Ski 5:00 – 7:30 pm Kick off your New Year ’s Eve celebration with an enchanting evening ski that is lit by over 200 luminaries. This out and back trail is an easy 4k that follows the first half of the Cookie Loop. Take in the warmth of a campfire at the Nature Shelter and enjoy hot beverages and sweet treats.
