Earth Day Volunteer Kickoff and Party

What a crazy year! Now that we have reached spring it is time to start thinking about all the projects we are going to be working on this summer. There are a lot of ways to get involved around here at the park. For starters, we are having our first volunteer day on Saturday, April 24th at 10am!

Please RSVP by emailing us at volunteer@minocquawinterpark.org

There will be lots to do: Earth Day Crafts and Activities, Springtime StoryWalk Hike, Trail Cleanup Volunteer Opportunity, Refreshments, and a chance to visit will all the volunteer project leaders and find a good fit for you.

If you are interested in any of these and cannot attend the Kickoff Party, email us at volunteer@minocquawinterpark.org

Projects include:

Adopt-A-Trail – Self-paced trail maintenance program where individuals/groups choose a trail to work on for the entire off season.

Supervised Trail Work Days – Trail maintenance for un-adopted trails, specific problem areas, and other large projects. These are usually held on Saturdays in the late summer/early fall.

Races – Year-round bike, ski, and running races. We are hosting two races this summer and will need volunteers for all aspects.

Events – Year-round events which have an emphasis on fundraising. Think Fall Hayrides and Winter Candlelight Events.

Programming – Year-round activities with an emphasis on education, trail enhancement, kids/family, and Citizen Science. Examples include: Trailside Fire Pits, Tea House, Winter Trail Activities/Games, StoryWalk, and Guided Tours.

Ambassadors – This is a self-governed group that provides guests with information, tips, directions, and help while on the trails. This summer, they will also have the chance to help with park operations.
