Ski your 2021 Birkie at Winter Park!
Skiing American Birkebeiner Events virtually this year? We are excited to announce that Winter Park is an official venue partner of the American Birkebeiner! We will be grooming and marking a course just for you! Come on out for a virtual cure for your Birkie Fever. You may find some familiar sights on the course: Power through the “Powerlines,” navigate “Hecklers Hill,” ring the cowbells at “OO,” and follow the bad jokes up “Holy Hill.”
Please Note: There will be no ski patrol or feed/aid stations on the course. All skiers will need to carry their own water and food for the duration of their race. All distances are an approximation. Distances may vary by device. The routes listed below are only a recommendation. Feel free to put together your own personalized route!
When can I ski?
Come on out anytime from Saturday, February 20th to Sunday, February 28th 2021. Our trail system is open daily from 9am-5pm. Be sure to check in at the Chalet Ticket Windows to purchase trail passes and to pick up a free Gu to keep you fueled while you race (while supplies last)! You race must be completed in one day and in one effort.
Be sure to keep track of your time via GPS device, App, or hand timed (and verified) to receive credit for your race.Visit birkie.com to learn more about the virtual race and how to upload your times.
Signs will be out on the trail marking all three courses. Each race is color coded to make navigation a bit easier.
- Birkie follows blue signs
- Korte follows green signs
- Prince Haakon follows pink signs
- Where all routes share trails, look for white signs with all three race names on it.
